Waterways are a big deal in Florida. With the St Lucie River and beaches close no matter where you go, boating is a huge past time; especially in Port St Lucie. There are several places where you can launch your boat, such as the C-24 Canal Park in Southbend.
Operated by the Loxahatchee River Historical Society, the waterfront lighthouse, museum and grounds feature 5,000 years of regional history. Climbing tours of the landmark 1860 Lighthouse are available. The Lighthouse Park is available for private events.
Marina Square is home of Friday Fest, Farmer Market on Saturdays and a monthly Classic Car Show. Marina Square overlooks the intercoastal waterway. Dockage Rentals available along the Marina and the Manatee Observation Center is also nearby.
Memorial Park with its substantial expanse of green space and close proximity to the upscale downtown area. The park hosts some of the largest yearly events in the area. The convenient Gazebo and band shell make it a perfect venue of community events.
The shores and coastal waters at this park provide an abundance of recreational opportunities. The breathtakingly beautiful half-mile beach welcomes visitors for swimming, snorkeling, surfing, and scuba diving. Beachcombing, picnicking, or just relaxing on the sand are also popular activities.
Built in 1876 to help stranded sailors, its long colorful history spans nearly 70 years. Today it is leased to the Martin County Historical Society, which operates it as a museum exhibiting life-saving equipment used over the years and showcasing the keeper's quarters, c. 1904.
Bring Fido! Parks with large open areas and plenty of activities are a great way to spend a day with man’s best friend. A park you can visit for both sport and for your pet is a golden opportunity. Such an opportunity exists with Lyngate Park with its specialized dog park.
Port St Lucie has several parks with a large variety of amenities. From baseball fields to tennis courts to pavilions for events and sidewalks for walks around with pleasant scenery; all these and more are available within the Jessica Clinton Park in Southbend.
Port St. Lucie's McCarty Ranch Preserve for its excellent hiking, biking, kayaking and fishing opportunities and now visitors can camp under the stars in this primitive and rustic setting.
The Riverwalk Boardwalk along the St. Lucie River is an excellent place to observe Florida wetlands and river. It stretches 2,453 feet from Tom Hooper Park to the boat ramps and pavilion at Veterans Park at Rivergate.
